Edwin S. Cramp was born in 1853, the grandson of the founder of the William Cramp & Sons Ship and Engine Building Company where he worked throughout his life. Apprenticed to the Engineering Department in 1871, he advanced to the positions of Vice-President and Director. Cramp resigned in 1907, and died in 1913. From the description of Edwin S.
